First — do you even need a shelter account? If you rescue and rehome animals yourself, a Pet Owner account with the Verified Member badge already covers that. You need a shelter account when you want to receive donations and host volunteers. That’s the real line, not how big you are or whether you call yourself a shelter.
If that’s you, there are two ways to get verified — and both get the same core tools: adoption listings, a wishlist, Kawang-Gawa volunteer shifts, and Abot-tulong donations straight to your GCash or Maya. Most of the animal welfare in this country is done by people without paperwork, so the tier is mainly about the badge fur parents see. Two smaller things do differ — the adoption-fee cap and escalation eligibility — both explained below.
For independent rescuers and grassroots groups. Bring a government ID, a proof of billing, a few photos of where you keep the animals, and one social link. That’s it — no SEC papers needed.
Adoption fees are capped at ₱500 — enough to recover vet costs. Charging per animal at volume without registration can count as animal trade here, so the cap keeps you on the right side of it.
For organizations with papers. Everything above, plus your SEC registration, a current BAI certificate, and your affiliated vet’s name and PRC number.
No fee cap, and you can be an escalation partner — rescue cases routed straight to you. Community rescues can be granted that too, case by case.
Verified Rescue today doesn’t lock you in. When your SEC registration comes through, add the extra documents and move up to Verified Shelter — your listings, volunteers, and donations carry over.
We’re onboarding a small group of shelters for our Metro Manila launch. Tell us about your org and we’ll be in touch.
